1B Technician
This course expands on basic chemistry while introducing technical referencing, toxicology, monitoring/measuring devices, and wet chemistry. In this class, students will utilize hands-on learning to understand the behind the scenes work at a Hazardous Materials Emergency.
Learning Objectives
1. Apply concepts learned in Hazmat Technician 1A through utilizing air detection and monitoring technology and pin-pointing unspecified liquid and solid specimens
2. Learn to research written and electronic data relating to compatibility and reactivity facts, hazardous vapor plume modeling, and chemical specs
3. Understand the consequences of harmful chemical reactions through live demos
